Once shooting for cinema, television or photography, the final editing is done. Post production color correction is one the final steps made to finish an edited program. Its purpose is to change, alter or enhance the appearance and lighting that has been used already.

This process has been made to give an exact control of every shot in a program. This has been possible because of the flexible tools and a huge workspace to manage the color, contrast and configuration of the individual shot. When correcting a program, there are so many tasks involved in this section. The process usually takes some trial and error but when coordination is achieved, the work will just be quick and efficient.

At the start, some images in digital format does not have the harmony or optimum exposure. Or accidents can happen anytime in a shoot like the video camera was not readily balance before a scene is taken but the lights are already lit. In events like this, the result may not be good. With all these mistakes the post production color correction can fix all these.

Every shot has different targeted elements for the audience. In a commercial shot, the main focus is the product advertised while in a narrative video, a person is the element here. The process can adjust the skin tone of every key points such that the edited version will look real and live for the audience's discriminating taste.

At times, footages taken in different location from varied sources, time and weather needs to be combined but even the crew cannot make the combination successful because of contrasting color and displays. But applying this method carefully can merge the various shots balancing every shot so it will match with one another and to make it appear like being taken in one setting.

At times contrasting scenes is needed in a shot for a disconcerting effect. The correction can help you make an extreme differences. When a scene needs to be in different moods either gloomy, warm or watery mode is done by just marking the tones needed for the scene. The process also keep the shot matching to its look.

In some scene that needs a special effects to look it like real is also possible with this method. You can play with the colors either switching from night to day, scenes taken in ancient history or any extreme effects.This is possible because of the colors with many tools to use in order to come up with the special effects.

No ordinary person can do post production color correction, if you need one there are experts specifically trained for this job. Initially, the experts will provide clients with a sample of what they need. The presence of modern technologies and devices along with the right formulation, editing a shot for any desired output can be done using this process.
