The Joy of The Kids Pottery Wheel

By Jerry Benson

Fun and excitement is what you will find with the Kids Pottery Wheel. Children are kept busy for hours using their imagination on designing items with this wheel. Keep them busy with a variety of ideas on what they can do with their new toy. Speak to them about all the colors they can paint with after they have a piece finished.

The enjoyment of getting their hands dirty is enticement enough for some children to jump in and give it a whirl. Then get them thinking about whom they know that they could create their first item for. Do the dolls need a tea set? How about a new ashtray for that uncle that smokes? Or could grandma use a pretty new bowl? These ideas are all a great start on getting him to think of what to make for whom.

Always encourage him to use his imagination. Some day he may grow up to be the next great painter or sculptor. Use of the wheel will encourage all those creative juices needed to bring forth a true artist.

Provide a workspace for your child that is easy to clean up in case there are any accidents. You do not want clay spilled on a clean white carpet; so think about where you let him do his artwork. The easier to clean up, the less stress.

Teach them how to clean their work area when they are finished and it will make your life easier. Even children at age two can be taught to pick up after themselves, so give your child the opportunity to show they can follow directions and clean up their own mess. This will make them feel more accomplished and make it easier on you.

Pick a special place to display his finished craft where friends and family can enjoy his work. This encouragement will be good for him in his future also. When creative assignments come his way he will be more inclined to do them. His imagination can lead you to worlds unknown, so enjoy the ride!
